By bringing together artistic practice with innovation and advanced research, the exhibition aimed to highlight the importance of collaborative and transdisciplinary work towards the future of investigation of cutting-edge artistic creation. In the words of Manuel Cirauqui, main curator of the exhibition, Showcased at STATE Studio Berlin from 2nd to 26th of July 2020 and curated by Manuel Cirauqui in collaboration with Silvana Fiorese, NEAR + FUTURES + QUASI + WORLDS featured the selection of 11 artworks by artists and researchers.
In close collaboration between S+T+ARTS and Germany’s federal government’s Centre of Excellence and Creative Industries, the exhibition inaugurated with a two day symposium “EMPATHIC AI – ART CREATES INDUSTRY: A S+T+ARTS SYMPOSIUM”. Besides a guided tour of the exhibition by the curator, the symposium brought together artists, researchers and policy makers of the creative industries to discuss how the creative sector in partnership with technology and science, can contribute to innovative solutions for urgent social and environmental issues.
NEAR + FUTURES + QUASI + WORLDS was developed under the umbrella of the S2S project and VERTIGO – both S+T+ARTS initiatives.
